Shonen Knife’s lead singer is Naoko. She was inspired to form the band because of music like The Beatles, The Ramones and The Buzzcocks. They were formed in Osaka on December 30th 1981.
The origin of the band name is an old brand of a pencil sharpener.
They released their first album ‘Burning Farm’ on Japanese label Zero Records in 1983. It was released in America on legendary label ‘K’ Records in 1985.
