Nick Harper is one of the UK's best-kept secrets. Son of the legendary singer-songwriter Roy Harper, and a past member of the English New Wave band Squeeze. Surrounded by the likes of Keith Moon, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and Dave Gilmour as he grew up, Nick Harper was always destined to do great things.
For decades now, Nick Harper has been dazzling audiences with his heady mix of virtuosity, boyish charm, showmanship and sheer bravado. An imagination bursting with ideas has seen Nick release 11 solo albums to critical acclaim, earning a No.1 spot in the chart with the seminal hit 'Blue Sky Thinking'.
'58 Fordwych Road' is a tour celebrating the acoustic music that came from swinging' mid-Sixties London. In fact, some of it came from that actual address. People like Bert Jansch, Paul Simon, Marc Bolan, Sandy Denny & many others dropped in and out to jam and try new tunes. But all along, there was someone else: a toddler, part of the family, inhaling the music and absorbing the atmosphere: Roy Harper's son, Nick.
In this unique tour, Nick Harper plays tribute to the time, the place and the music that became the centre of everything. The show will run over two halves: the first will see Nick delve into the deluge of songs he heard directly from the greats when growing up. In the second, Nick will trace the journey of how these luminary figures' music evolved and helped shape popular music beyond the 60's, whilst revisiting the eternal themes that tun from then to now.
