“Single 'Coming To The End' evokes indie-rock epics Yo La Tengo’s 'We’re An American Band' and Pavement’s 'Fillmore Jive'" – Stereogum
A Surf inspired Indie-Rock/Pop act from Busan, South Korea, cited as one of 2018's ‘break-out bands'. Sweet melodic rock to make you swing and sway!
Childhood friends Jaeyoung Ha (Bass) and Byungkyu Kim (guitar) met drummer Semin Kang and played in bands together since winter of 2012, when they met Sumi Choi at a tea shop in Nampo-dong. They liked her speaking voice and immediately offered her a spot as the vocalist in a new band that would become Say Sue Me. Sumi turned out to be a natural at songwriting. Semin sadly suffered trauma from a fall. New drummer Changwon Kim stands in while they await Semin’s recovery.
“The most famous Korean Indie band in the world” - GQ Korea
"…its vibrant and catchy” - Pitchfork
“…jangly indie-pop, handclap-rich girl-group classics and the lightly rumbling sounds of early surf-rock. Stylish and timeless" - NPR
“…jangle-pop hooks, stunning vocal melodies and intricate guitar work that stands up proudly against some of their influences like Yo La Tengo and Pavement…” - KEXP
Say Sue Me are a quartet from Busan, South Korea. They usually enjoy listening to 60’s surf music and 90’s American indie music, and make their own music style by balancing two music harmoniously. In October 2014, Say Sue Me released their Debut Album [We’ve Sobered Up] and it is made of 11 songs that mix the members' favorite 60’s surf music and 90’s American indie scene feelings. And Say Sue Me’s new EP [Big Summer Night], released last July, is made of 6 songs including their own ‘Summer’ feelings. It is sure that “Sea” and “Surfing” are being some vehicles for their songs’ inspiration because their practice room is located in five minutes on foot from the Gwangalli Beach in Busan. Say Sue Me have a Compilation album, new album and RSD special for UK/European release in 2017 as well as their debut UK tour from the end of April to late May.
